A new research claims that the Mediterranean Diet, already recognized as the healthiest diet in the world by the World Health Organization, can positively affect mood.

According to researchers of the American Academy of Neurology, the Mediterranean Diet not only can prevent heart attacks and cardiovascular diseases, but also has an impact on our mood, as it helps reduce depression and anxiety.

As the results show, the people who adopted Mediterranean Diet for a period of three months, eating mainly fruits, vegetables, whole grains and fish, scored a 35 percent lower rate on a depression scale test.

Therefore, the research confirms the important relation between Mediterranean Diet and health and its significant role in the prevention of diseases.
