The Project was introduced in Sana Fair, The 31st International Exhibition of Organic and Natural Products in Bolonia (Italy)
SANA Fair, a strategic meeting point for the different players in the supply chain of organic and natural products, Italian and foreign, hosted a successful initiative aimed to promote MD.net Project that involved visitors, operators, SMEs and politics.
Introducing the event, Mr. Andrea Corsini - regional councillor for Trade, Tourism and Sport –pointed out how this project represents a systemization of many measures and activities, in which the Region is already involved, aimed at linking agricultural producers and tour operators.
The Mediterranean Diet associated with the production of 44 PDOs and PGIs, the “Cammini” (Routes) and the Musei del Gusto (Museums of Taste) are ways of spreading an “experience of the territory”, promoting a deeper knowledge of the culture of the area.
The participants showed effective interest and attention to the presentation of research results related to the Mediterranean Diet in Emilia-Romagna: landscapes, products, production techniques, local traditions, health benefits, culinary and cultural trends, etc. Food with its rituals, full of emotion, mixes well with the appreciation of culture and environment. Driven by these considerations, some local producers offered the visitors a guided tasting of PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oils and PGI Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, representative of the flavours and tastes of this region.
