The american magazine “U.S. News & World Report” has set Mediterranean Diet as the number 1 within several rankings: “best overall diet of 2019”, “best diet for healthy eating”, “best plan-based diet”, “best diet for diabetes” and “easiest diet to follow”. There is no official “Mediterranean diet plan”, although it encourages the consumption of lean proteins fruits and vegetables, legumes and healthy fats.

Additionally, Mediterranean Diet is considered so complete because it also embraces physical activities such as walking instead of driving and social activities such as enjoying meals with others.
