Sustainability, Health, Culture and Product Quality associated with the territory are the Brand values that Cava and Mediterranean Diet guarantee.
This first forum, held in Barcelona on February 5th, has been created with the objective of reflecting on all those aspects that affect the relationship of cava with society from the Mediterranean lifestyle point of view that contemplates consumption habits, gastronomy, culture, awareness, health and product sustainability.
According to international scientific studies highlighted during the forum, Cava is considered part of the Mediterranean Diet and its moderate consumption contributes to enhance the benefits of the Mediterranean Diet by 25%.
During the event, Javier Pagés, president of the D.O. Cava, stressed the importance of the brand value of the Mediterranean Diet and Cava that covers health, sustainability, culture and product quality associated to the territory. Values that the forum participants agreed upon unanimously. Therefore, it is important to continue promoting the food and products included in the Mediterranean Diet and lifestyle, such as wine and Cava, so that the beneficial aspects of moderate and responsible consumption are assessed.
It is also important to underline that the World Health Organization recommends the Mediterranean Diet as the healthiest in the world, since it contributes to a high quality of life and prevents diseases such as cardiovascular or degenerative diseases.
